I’m Laurie Wood, and my heart lies in helping families grow together. As a dog trainer and a birth doula, I combine gentle guidance, patience, and encouragement to support both two- and four-legged family members.
I am a family-centered dog trainer and a certified birth doula. I bring the best of both worlds together to support families in creating safe, joyful, and lasting relationships with their dogs. I understand the unique challenges that come with family life—whether it’s welcoming a new dog into the home, preparing your pup for the arrival of a baby, or navigating the toddler years when both children’s and dogs’ needs are constantly changing. My goal is to guide families through these transitions with patience, positivity, and practical skills that help everyone thrive together.

With a lifelong passion for teaching and supporting families, I bring a unique mix of experience to my work. I began my career as a high school English teacher and later became a middle school principal, roles that taught me the value of patience, communication, and guidance—skills that now shape my approach to dog training and family support.
My dog training journey began more than 20 years ago with a beloved but challenging puppy who sparked my interest in helping dogs and their people. Learning how to work with him led me into training, where I developed a special love for family dog classes and enjoyed everything from everyday manners to the fun of agility.
As a mother, stepmother, and proud grandmother of ten, I also understand the joys and complexities of family life. Today, I combine all of these experiences to help families build safe, positive, and loving relationships with their dogs.
